Step 1: Check threshold + voluntary case
Mandatory: turnover above thresholds, inter-state supply, e-commerce, reverse charge, casual taxable person, agent of another taxable person. Voluntary: below threshold but you want ITC + B2B credibility.
Step 2: Gather documents
PAN of business. Aadhaar of proprietor/partner/director. Photograph of authorised signatory. Bank account details with cancelled cheque or statement.
